  1. Mode of Admission and Quota.
    1. High schools recommend to university departments those fresh graduates who meet the recommendation criteria of each department and have attended the same high school for the entire duration of their studies. The conditions for recommendation are specified in the admission regulations.
    2. The number of students to be admitted will be in accordance with the principles approved by the Ministry of Education.
    3. Insufficient quota and the shortage of quota after giving up the qualification of admission shall be used for ‘Admission by Examination’.
  2. Candidates are required to take the GSAT and may be assigned to take other examinations by the university department.
  1. Application: Application will be processed by the College Admissions Committee (CAC).
  2. Distribution of Admission:
  • The University Selection and Admission Committee conducts the first round of distribution according to the standards set by each university department for the GSAT, College Admission Practical Examination (CAPE), Test of English Listening Comprehension (TELC), the high school recommendation priority, and the distribution ratio, with each university admitting only one student from the same high school.
  • If there is still a shortage of students after the first round of distribution, the College Admission Committee (CAC) will conduct a second round of distribution based on the principles of the previous distribution.
  • If the first and second rounds of distribution are still the same, they will be handled in accordance with the admission regulations.
  1. Withdrawal.
  • Admitted students, regardless of whether they give up or not, will not be allowed to apply for personal admission to the university in the current academic year, nor will they be allowed to participate in the first stage of screening for admission to the four-year day system of the School of Science and Technology in the current academic year.
  • Students who do not give up their admission status within the time limit stipulated in the application form for the current academic year will not be allowed to apply for the university entrance examination and the four-technology and two-vocational joint registration and distribution of the entrance examination

Candidates for the Hope Group should fill in the preference order for the Hope Group when applying. The deadline for revising the order of preference is 9:00 p.m. on May 5 2024 (Sunday), after which the revision will not be accepted, and the candidates are not allowed to ask for revision of the order of their preferences. Candidates should check and confirm that they meet the eligibility requirements before applying, and then hand in the original copy certificates of eligibility for low-income households, lower-middle-income households, families with special circumstances, children of new immigrants, or children attending high schools in remote areas. For details, please refer to pages 5 to 10 of this guide.

 

‘The ‘Hope Group’ is divided into eight groups to admit students who have been certified as low-income or lower-middle-income households, families with special circumstances, children of new immigrants, and students who have been attending high schools in remote areas for three years; please refer to the ‘Specified Items/Screening Instructions’ of each Hope Group for the departments and enrollment quotas of each group. 2. Candidates are required to submit valid original certificates (i.e. the examination information listed in the introduction ‘R. Original Certificate of Eligibility’) please refer to the table below. Each original certificate should be scanned in colour and uploaded to the Admissions Committee's website https://www.cac.edu.tw/ under the item ‘Others’ from the first page in accordance with the regulations before the deadline for application, and will be eligible for application to the ‘Group of Hope’ only if it has been approved by our school after examination. Anyone who fails to submit the required documents by the deadline or fails to submit all the required documents, or is deemed by the University to be ineligible, will be disqualified from applying for the ‘Hope Group’.

  • Eligibility:
  1. Applicants will not be considered if Department of Pharmacy is their second choice.
  2. All applicants must have completed:
    1. three credits of General Chemistry with a 3.50 GPA.
    2. six credits of calculus with a 3.50 GPA.
    3. three credits of General Biology (two subjects of General Zoology and General Botany can be credited to General Biology) with a GPA of 3.50.
  3. A GPA of 3.50 during the academic year.
  4. GPA of 3.50 in English language.
  5. Credits or exemptions must be supported by original grades (including the number of students enrolled in the course and their rankings).
  6. Please submit the report of colour vision (colour blindness) test issued by the Eye Department of the General Hospital within two years to the Department of Pharmacy, Office of the College of Pharmacy during the working hours (Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m.) on the dates announced by the University.

Admission will be based on the results of the examination and the screening, with the exception of those who fail the screening or whose results do not meet the qualifications of the applicant at the time of application. However, students who do not pass the examination, or who do not have all the required scores at the time of application, and who subsequently fail to meet the eligibility requirements of the examination, will not be admitted even if their examination scores meet the admission standards. If there is a tie in the same year, students will be admitted in order of merit based on their scores in General Chemistry, General Biology, and the information examined (school report cards , autobiographies, and others).

  1. Examination Time and Venue:

The examination will be held on the same date as the current year's transfer examination, examination papers will be the same as the school’ transfer examination exam papers. The time and venue of the examination will be notified by the Department Office upon payment of the examination application fee. The student ID card will be used as the admission card on the examination day and no separate admission card will be issued.

  • Others:
  1. Some of the required courses require the ability to observe and identify colours.
  2. Students who are transferred to the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences in accordance with this procedure are responsible for not graduating within the stipulated years of study and may not request a transfer to another department on the basis of a conflict of time of courses or for any other reason.
  3. The transfer information may be reviewed when the transfer information reaches the department if the semester grades of the subjects studied are not yet announced. If the grades are not up to the required standard, the department will not accept the student.
  4. Please attach a photocopy of the original application for English exemption.

 

  • Remarks:
  1. Applicants who wish to transfer to the Department of Pharmacy must register online at the University's Departmental Transfer Application System, print out the information on the application form after completing the registration process, and pay the examination registration fee of NT$1,500 at the Cashier's Office on the 3rd floor of the School of Medicine (No. 1, Sec. 1, Renai Road, Taipei City) during the University's announced working hours (Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 17:00 p.m.). After paying the fee, submit the payment receipt and the printed application documents to the office of the College of Pharmacy to register and receive the notice of the examination time and place before completing the application for transferring to another department. Students who fail to follow the above procedures will not be allowed to apply for the examination of the departmental transfer for any reason. Those who have paid the application fee cannot ask for a refund for any reason.
  2. Please read the regulations on transferring to a different department and the rules for transferring to a different department before applying.
  3. Students who apply for the departmental transfer without having received the required grades will not be admitted to the department if their semester grades do not meet the standards set forth in the application requirements.
