There are two times when students can apply for direct-entry doctoral degree programs per academic year. Students who have graduated from a bachelor's degree program, have completed one semester or more of a master's degree program and meet the requirements of Article 3 of the “Regulations for Students to Undertake direct-entry doctoral degree programs of the National Taiwan University” may apply for direct-entry doctoral degree programs by submitting an application form and related information to the department. The application form and the timeframe for the application process will be based on the timeframe announced by the University in each semester.

The eligibility criteria and documents to be attached are as follows:

1. The University process the applications for doctoral degree in accordance with Article 3 of the Regulations for Students to Undertake direct-entry doctoral degree programs of the National Taiwan University:
   1. The student's overall grade point average ranked within the top one-third of the department during his/her study period.
   2. The applicant's academic performance has been evaluated as outstanding by the department in which he/she intends to enter the doctoral programme due to other special circumstances.
2. The following documents must be submitted:
   1. The application form for a doctoral degree.
   2. The report card of the bachelor's class or the report card of the master's class for one semester or more.
   3. A recommendation letter from two teachers above the rank of assistant professor.
